Mamma Mia!

Dang, it’s hot out there. It’s a good thing I didn’t know how hot or I would have been calling people to whine all day. Instead, I just worked, sweated, and tried to coax the dog to leave the hot house to go out into the hotter world. 99 degrees and we don’t have our heat pump yet. Probably won’t until next year. Don’t even have ceiling fans although Jenny gave me a choice between getting ceiling fans at Home Depot or an air-conditioned movie theater. I opted for the theater. Fans tomorrow.

So we went to Mamma Mia! I enjoyed it although it was predictable from the get-go. However, the music was fun, Pierce Brosnan is as handsome as ever, and Meryl Streep was amazing. I’m so used to seeing her do serious drama. Watching her sing, dance, cavort, and generally act silly was fun. So, if it’s hot where you are, and you don’t have the stomach for Hellboy II or The Mummy, Mamma Mia! is a great, easy way to get away from the heat. Even more fun if you’ve been to Greece. Brought back lots of good memories.
